We would like to thank everyone who joined us for an incredible 2009-10 season. It started with great early season coverage and finished strong with mid-winterlike conditions through the end of April. AVALANCHE AVOIDANCE COURSES OFFERED IN JANUARY!
Pacific Crest Snowcats will once again be offering in-the-field courses that combine a day of making turns via snowcat with clinics led by seasoned Alaskan heliguides, avalanche forecasters and veteran patrollers. A new style of avalanche class, it begins with the premise that the best turns are often made during storm cycles in which avalanche stability issues exist. Rather than asking the question "should we go skiing?", the class assumes that passionate skiers and boarders will go out when the hazard exists and focuses on avoiding the hazard, eliminating the hazard, and escaping the hazard.
