About The Tour

Relax and enjoy a comfortable ride in our plush custom snowcat as it climbs to the trip starting elevation of close to 8,000 feet. Once at the summit, we'll gear up and meander through gently rolling terrain consisting of intriguing rock outcroppings, old-growth forests and marshmallow-like snow formations. We’ll peer down into deep creeks and across high alpine views southward toward Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows resorts and northward toward Donner Pass and Castle Peak wilderness areas. Groomed and ungroomed trails are available for every age, skill and fitness level. Tours are led by personable guides well versed in the local geology, wildlife and plant life. Trips include snowshoe rental and professional guide service.

Know Before You Go

Dress appropriately- layers are always recommended in the backcountry to manage your body heat. Bring some water- either a water bottle you can tuck into a pocket or a hydration pack. Bring snacks. You can stow a small bag or pack on the snowcat with any additional items to keep you comfortable.

We supply snow shoes or you can bring your own. We highly recommend bringing ski poles, adjustable if you have. Please let us know if you don't have ski poles.

How hard are the snowshoe tours?
Whether you are looking for an easy stroll with an awesome view or a leg-burning challenge, our snowshoe tours are for you. Our private terrain provides various difficulty options for snowshoeing. Let us know how easy or hard you would like to make your tour and we’ll make it happen!
Do we have to bring our own equipment?
We provide snowshoes for everyone. If you have ski poles, please bring them along. Make sure you dress appropriately for the weather and have sturdy, waterproof shoes. You are welcome to bring your own equipment if you would like.
